The Security Director, a seasoned professional in the field, reports directly to the event promoter/partners and has complete oversight of all security and safety matters. They serve as the primary contact for all law enforcement and emergency management and are authorized to act in any capacity necessary during event security operations.

Deputy Director

Reports to Security Director. Acts as Security Director during Security Director's absence or emergency. Oversees all partner security companies and KES management team, including pre- and post-event.  Manages the Escort Team. Puts a strong emphasis on quality control, ensuring the highest security standards are maintained. Focuses on integrated security processes including venue and campgrounds.  May act in any capacity throughout event security operations.

Assistant Deputy Director (overnight)

Reports to the Security Director and Deputy Director as needed. Acts as Security Director during Security Director's absence or emergency. Command Post Director

Reports to the Security Director and Deputy Director. Oversees all command post operations and incident command aspects—liaison with on-site law enforcement operations and various commands.  In the absence of a promoter, the Security Director may act with the same authority due to public safety concerns or threats.  May act in any capacity of emergency or command operations throughout event security operations.

Internal Affairs Manager

Reports to Deputy Security Director or Security Director if warranted.  Oversees all investigations involving criminal acts reported to the festival and notifies appropriate law enforcement agencies based on crime reported.  Investigate all high liability or festival integrity incidents.  Coordinates reporting with the command post and event reporting system.  Completes comprehensive internal investigations. Conducts investigations to maintain the integrity of evidence, witnesses, and scene documentation to a professional law enforcement standard. May act in any capacity within the campground security or as directed.

Internal Audit

Our watch phrase is “Trust But Verify.” The Audit Team is thorough in its work, ensuring the performance and staffing of various event services are up to standard. The primary function will involve independently verifying the hours worked and the general performance of the private security companies hired to service the event. In addition, we will observe other event personnel and report on maintenance issues such as Porta-Johns, overflowing trash, inoperative generators, vending issues, parking, etc.

Venue Entrancing Manager

Reports to the Security Director, Deputy, or Asst. Deputy as needed.  Oversees all aspects of security and contraband determination at assigned patron gates.  Directs partner security staff to achieve an elevated level of consistent security and safety activities, i.e., searches, contraband identification, consistent determination of contraband, quality control, and patron/security interaction. May act in any capacity within venue security operations.

Reports to Deputy Director or Assistant Deputy Director.  Oversees all aspects of campground safety and security including responding to crimes occurring, intelligence gathering, mass gatherings, and investigations in support of Internal Affairs and local law enforcement.  Works in partnership with local field law enforcement.  May act in any capacity within the perimeter/campground or vehicle entrancing security operations.

Perimeter/Campground Anti-Theft Team Member (CAT)

Reports to Perimeter/Campground Manager.  Facilitates all aspects of perimeter/campground safety and security including responding to crimes occurring, intelligence gathering, mass gatherings, and investigations in support of Internal Affairs and local law enforcement.  Works in partnership with local field law enforcement.  May act in any capacity within the perimeter/campground or vehicle entrancing security operations as directed.
